Three new outdoor cinemas to check out in Dubai this winter



If there’s one thing better than snuggling under a blanket, eating popcorn and watching the latest blockbuster, it’s doing all of that under the stars. Outdoor cinemas are a great way to spend your evenings in Dubai whether you’re looking for a free night out of the house or a VIP experience.

Here are three new outdoor cinemas to check out in Dubai.

Azure Beach

Starting on Nov 6, Azure Beach’s ‘Sea-nema’ will showcase blockbuster movies every Wednesday night on the lawn of the famous beach club. Entrance will cost you Dhs50 and there’s a variety of seating available, from the super comfortable beanbags to the cozy couple sofas. Skip dinner and head straight for the snacks as the range of movie bites include pizzas, hot dogs, loaded fries with a variety of toppings, and popcorn. November movies will include F8 The Fate of the Furious and Suicide Squad. While in December, you’ll be able to see Logan, Avengers: Endgame, A Star Is Born, and The Grinch. In January lookout for The Devil Wears Prada, Rocketman, Crazy Rich Asians, Crazy Stupid Love, and Aladdin.

JLT Park

The huge park at Cluster O of JLT has started showing free movies every Friday night. Upcoming movies include Ride Like a Girl, The Professor and the Madman, Animation movie The Big Trip and Amy Schumer’s I Feel Pretty as well as Then Came You with Game of Thrones’ Masie Williams. Bring your own blankets, chairs or mats and you can catch all of them on the lawn from 6.50 pm.

The Pointe

Palm Jumeirah’s The Pointe has launched a free weekly cinema showing blockbusters such as Fantastic Beasts – The Crimes of Grindelwald, Lego Movie 2 and Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse. Christmas time is going to come, you will also be able to catch both Home Alone 1 and 2 at the free open-air cinema. It runs every Saturday from 8 pm.
